Prayer Shawls

I knit hugs.  That's what I consider these shawls to be.  They are called Prayer Shawls, Comfort Shawls, or Friendship Shawls.  These shawls are available to be given by you to offer someone comfort, care, and warmth.  While they were being knitted, prayers were said asking for God’s love, compassion, & healing powers to help the recipient.  Please add your own prayers. 

I have them in a variety of styles.  There is a straight shawl that is long enough to wrap around and flip the end over your shoulder.  There is the lap robe very appropriate for a man or woman.  There is the shrug style.  A friend told me she made these for her daughters years ago and they were called Hug-Me-Tights.  That's how I think of all of them.   They  are soft, warm, cozy, and comforting just like a hug.  The shrug style is especially appropriate for someone trying to manage a wheel chair or walker.  It will stay on much easier than a straight shawl.  

Keep in mind these can be given in celebration as well as in sadness.

I sell shawl pins under the category of Other Items.  A secret - did you know that large barrettes and hair clips will work nicely to hold the shrug or shawl in place?

I always use acrylic yarn so they are washable.
